Camp Runamucka

Camp Runamucka
Lake Olathe / Olathe, KS  |  September 27-28, 2015

Note: Webelos Scouts will camp 2 nights starting Friday September 26th

Opening Flag Ceremony: 10:30am
Registration Deadline: September 22

Camp fee is $10:00. This helps cover the camp facilities and supplies, and our fabulous catered breakfast Sunday! New scouts will also receive a Camp Runnamucka leather pocket totem for collecting beads at the various events they participate in. Please let the registration people know if you need a replacement from last year.

We will have programs such as sports, arts and crafts (including leatherworks), hiking (on the hike we will present Leave No Trace education), some free time, and….how about an Archery & BB gun  Range?

Plan meals by den or rank, a sack lunch for Saturday would be best, Webelos will want to plan a quick lunch that day to save time. Sunday breakfast IS PROVIDED for ALL OF CAMP, including juice and coffee, plates and utensils. That means you can put all your camp cooking gear away Saturday night!

Wash station and drinking water (refill your drink cooler from the hose) will be available. 3 port-a-johns will be onsite near camp entrance, 2 more will be located on the opposite side of camp near the sports field/range. We will have a first-aid station as well, with a leader guide for emergency situations and walkie-talkies for staff for fast response.

Required documents:
Health Forms for EVERYONE, permission slips for all scouts, Attendance without a parent is possible with a special form filled out and a designated responsible adult that is not the den leader (for Wolves,  Bears and Webelos only).

Can’t be there at 10am?
Not a problem! Campers can come & go as needed. Each grade will have a set schedule so you can join up with your group at any time. Everyone is encouraged to come out early Sat. morning to set up camp. A tram will be running to the campsites from 8-10am. No vehicles will be allowed at the campsites.

Who can attend?
All Scouts and their parents. No siblings please. Tigers need to attend with a parent or guardian. Older scouts can attend without a parent, just use the attached form. Please keep in mind that per BSA policy, no boy can sleep in a tent with an adult who is not their parent or legal guardian.

What do I do to sign up?
Let your den leader know that you want to go. They will need payment and a health form for all participants (scouts and adults). See attached form – fill out parts A and C.

Food info:
* Plan lunch and dinner by den
* Sunday breakfast is included!

Den responsibilities:
Campfire skits/songs are expected of each den. Den Leaders may need to assist Boy Scout troop members at the program areas if requested. Food for dinner should be arranged by each den.  Bring your own trash cans, and take trash with you when you leave. Camp pods need to provide their own drink cooler also, bring some ice for it.

What do I bring?
See attached gear list. You will need a tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, etc. There are some items on this list you won’t need such as a swimsuit, so use your best judgement. There will be a first aid station on site.
